HOUSE RULES
Welcome to Hotel Alexander Amsterdam.
Our goal is to provide a comfortable, safe, and enjoyable stay for all guests. We kindly ask all guests to respect these House Rules throughout their stay.
These House Rules form an integral part of the Hotel Alexander
Terms & Conditions.
1. RESPECT FOR OTHER GUESTS
Hotel Alexander welcomes guests from all over the world.
Guests are expected to treat fellow guests, staff members, and neighbours with courtesy and respect at all times.
Harassment, discrimination, threatening behaviour, aggression, abuse, or any conduct that negatively affects the comfort or safety of others will not be tolerated.
2. QUIET HOURS
To ensure a restful environment for all guests, quiet hours apply daily between:
22:00 and 07:00
During quiet hours, guests must:
- Keep voices and conversations at a reasonable volume
- Avoid loud music, television, or other noise
- Refrain from disruptive behaviour in rooms, corridors, stairwells, and common areas
- Respect neighbouring rooms and surrounding residents
Guests causing repeated disturbances may be asked to leave the Hotel without refund.
3. VISITORS
For safety and security reasons, only registered guests may access guest accommodation areas.
Visitors are permitted only in the lobby and reception areas during reception opening hours.
Visitors are not permitted in:
- Guest rooms
- Guest floors
- Corridors
- Stairwells
- Other accommodation areas
Guests wishing to accommodate additional persons must contact reception in advance.
4. RESPONSIBLE ALCOHOL CONSUMPTION
Guests may consume alcohol within their room and designated Hotel areas where permitted.
We ask all guests to drink responsibly and remain considerate of others.
The Hotel reserves the right to refuse service, deny entry, or terminate a stay where excessive intoxication results in:
- Disturbance to other guests
- Aggressive behaviour
- Unsafe conduct
- Damage to property
- Safety concerns
5. SMOKING AND VAPING
Smoking is strictly prohibited throughout the Hotel.
This includes:
- Cigarettes
- Cigars
- Marijuanna products
- Pipes
- Electronic cigarettes
- Vapes
- Heated tobacco products
- Similar devices
Violation of the smoking policy will result in a minimum €200 penalty and recovery fee.
Additional charges may apply where further cleaning, repairs, guest compensation, fire alarm response, or room recovery is required.
Guests wishing to smoke must do so outside the Hotel building and in accordance with local regulations.
6. BREAKFAST AREA
Breakfast is served daily between:
07:30 and 10:00
Guests are required to reserve a breakfast timeslot in advance.
Available timeslots are offered every 30 minutes and are subject to availability.
The breakfast room is reserved exclusively for guests who have purchased breakfast.
Food and beverages from the breakfast buffet may not be removed from the breakfast area unless approved by Hotel staff.
7. HOUSEKEEPING AND ROOM ACCESS
Housekeeping services are available upon request.
For stays longer than four nights, rooms will normally receive a full service after the third night.
Hotel staff may enter guest rooms when reasonably necessary for:
- Housekeeping
- Maintenance
- Repairs
- Safety inspections
- Emergencies
- Operational requirements
Where possible, routine access will take place during daytime hours.
8. DELIVERIES
Guests expecting deliveries should inform reception in advance.
The Hotel may refuse deliveries that have not been communicated beforehand.
Where guests arrange direct room delivery, they are responsible for coordinating access and collection with the delivery provider.
The Hotel accepts no responsibility for delayed, lost, damaged, or refused deliveries.
9. SAFETY AND SECURITY
Guests must comply with all safety instructions provided by Hotel staff.
The following are strictly prohibited:
- Tampering with fire safety equipment
- Blocking emergency exits
- Misusing emergency systems
- Creating unsafe situations for guests or staff
The Hotel operates security and monitoring measures to help protect guests, staff, and property.
Any behaviour that compromises safety may result in immediate removal from the Hotel.
10. BICYCLES
Hotel Alexander does not provide bicycle parking or bicycle storage facilities.
Public bicycle parking is available throughout Amsterdam.
In exceptional circumstances, the Hotel may permit temporary bicycle storage at its sole discretion. Such permission does not create any obligation or liability on the part of the Hotel.
11. PETS
Pets are not permitted anywhere within the Hotel.
Exceptions may apply only where required by applicable law.
12. LOST KEY CARDS
Lost key cards should be reported to reception as soon as possible.
Replacement key cards are provided free of charge.
The Hotel reserves the right to deactivate lost key cards immediately for security reasons.
13. FAILURE TO COMPLY
Guests who fail to comply with these House Rules, the Hotel Terms & Conditions, or reasonable instructions from Hotel staff may be subject to:
- Verbal or written warnings
- Financial charges
- Removal of unauthorized visitors
- Refusal of service
- Cancellation of the reservation
- Immediate removal from the Hotel without refund
