Location
Hotel Alexander is located in the museum district of Amsterdam. The famous Rijksmuseum (National Museum), Van Gogh Museum, Stedelijk Museum (Museum of modern art), Anne Frank house are all within a few minutes walking distance from our hotel.
Our hotel is based in two charming 19th century houses on a quiet residential street called the Vondelstraat. The Vondelpark, the most famous park in Amsterdam, is just a stone throw away for if you like to find some peace and fresh air in our nature.
Cultural event lovers can easily walk to The Concert Hall, De La Mar Theatre, Bellevue Theatre, Paradiso, Melkweg and many more places within 5 minutes.
The best restaurants, cafe's, bars, terraces and other nightlife can be found at the "Leidseplein" which is less than 5 minutes walking from our hotel.

From the airport:
Taxi: costs approximately € 35 for up to 4 persons. A taxi can be found in front of the arrival hall. The duration is about 20 minutes.

Hotel shuttle bus (Connexion): € 15 per person one way from the airport to our hotel. The duration is about 45 minutes.
Public transport bus: bus number 197. The costs are € 6 per person and the ticket can be bought on the bus. The this bus takes you to the “Leidseplein” which is just a few minutes away walking from our hotel. The duration is about 45 minutes.
Train: from the airport to the Amsterdam Central Station for € 4 per person, from the central station you can take tram number 1, 2 or 5 to the stop called “Leidseplein” (tram tickets can be bought on the tram and costs € 2,60 per person), from this tram stop it’s a few minutes walking to our hotel. When you get of at “Leidseplein” you will find two big hotels, the “Marriott Hotel” and “NH Amsterdam Centre Hotel”, between this two hotels you will find Vondelstraat. This is the our street, please enter this street and look for house number 44-46 on your right side. Total duration about 40 minutes.
From Amsterdam Central Station:
Taxi: A taxi can be taken from the front side of the Central Station. The costs are about € 15 and it takes about 10 minutes to get to our hotel.
Tram: from the Central Station you can take number 1, 2 or 5 to the stop called “Leidseplein” (tram tickets can be bought on the tram and costs € 2,60 per person), from this tram stop it’s a few minutes walking to our hotel. When you get of at “Leidseplein” you will find two big hotels, the “Marriott Hotel” and “NH Amsterdam Centre Hotel”, between this two hotels you will find Vondelstraat.
